Basketball season is already halfway over, and both the girls and boys Varsity basketball teams are in first place in the SCL. The girls started their season with two big wins over last year’s league champions, Sonoma Valley, and local rival Petaluma High School. They followed this successful week with a solid victory over Piner High School, and a 41-40 overtime win over Healdsburg. The overtime victory put the Lady Tigers into first place. They were able to maintain their position with two wins last week over Elsie Allen High School and El Molino High School. They are facing Sonoma Valley a second time on Thursday, January 28 at 7:30 pm in Sonoma. The Flying Tigers started their season with a 67-64 overtime victory against Sonoma Valley. They followed this win by beating Piner, suffered a loss to Healdsburg, and then came back with a victory against Petaluma. In the past week, they were able to put away two wins against Elsie Allen and El Molino, and will face Sonoma for a second time on Friday, January 29 at 7:30 at home. The Junior Varsity and Freshman teams are also off to great starts in both programs. Please continue to come out and support your Analy basketball teams!
