Do you need a delicious sweet treat? Do you like cake and lollipops? Then I suggest making cake pops to satisfy your cravings. If you are not already aware, cake pops are pieces of cake crumbs rolled up into balls which are covered with frosting and sprinkles. A lollipop style stick is also attached to it. Now that you know what a cake pop is, what are you waiting for? Let’s make some!
For your ingredients you will need cake mix (preferably vanilla but other flavors are fine), three eggs, one cup of water, frosting of your choice, candy melts, sprinkles, and lollipop sticks. First you will need to bake your cake and after it is baked, you want to crush it into smaller crumbs in a bowl. It will feel weird crumbling the cake but it is all a part of the process. Then, you will need to place ¾ of the frosting into your cake crumbs. This will make it easier to roll it into round cake balls. Make sure not to add too much frosting because this will make the cake pops moist. Once the mixture is made into small perfect balls, you will need to chill the balls in the fridge for about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes you will roll the balls again and pop them back in the fridge for an hour and a half so they can maintain their sphere shape and stick easier to the lollipop sticks. Once they are chilled again, you want to stick each of the individual cake balls onto a lollipop stick. Next, you are going to dip these cake ball sticks into the candy melts and make sure the entire cake ball is coated in a nice thin layer of candy melts. Don’t forget to decorate your cake pops with sprinkles too before the candy melts set. Place each of the cake pops upright on a cup or a piece of styrofoam so they can completely set. After they quickly set, pick up a cake pop and enjoy!
