Advanced Ag, animal science, plant science, do any of these sound remotely familiar? No? I don’t blame you! At Analy, there are so many classes to learn about and take that sometimes while others shine in the spotlight- COUGH COUGH (AP World History)… others stay hidden in the dark. While I could go on and on about classes such as AP Seminar, AP Research, Ag Mechanics, Wood Shop, Ag Business, and even Alternate Fitness, one that really sticks out is Advanced Agriculture. Think Biology class with extra steps. In one semester, you learn all about the animal system, while in the second semester, you learn about plant science.
Okay, so it’s just an advanced biology class for ag kids. Wrong. In Adv. Ag, not only do you get JC credits because it is a dual enrollment class, you also get physical science credit for your Analy transcripts. I’m sure you’re all thinking the same thing right now. What do you do in class? Saying we study animals and plants is way too vague. In the first semester, you learn about the terms of livestock, the variety of digestive systems, and even a dissection! While I have not yet experienced the second semester, I can assure you that the first semester is fun, so if you’re worried about some boring class that you’ll dread for the rest of your life, look elsewhere, because this class is not only engaging but also has an iron-clad support system.
