Speaking Contests
Every year we are presented with 6 different speaking contests, Impromptu, Prepared Speaking, Creed, Spanish Creed, Job interview, and Extemporaneous. These speaking contests each have different tasks, ranging from memorizing 5 paragraphs, to binders full of research waiting to memorize and give a speech in 20 minutes or less. Members must attend practices with their chosen speaking contest, and compete for a spot on the team since most teams only allow 3-4 members each. Good luck to all of our speakers!
Opening/Closing Results
On October 16th we took 6 teams to the Cloverdale Citrus Fair, 3 novice, 2 advanced, and our Officer Team to compete in our annual, Opening/Closing Contest. All of our teams did amazing in their positions, as well as some members who were outstanding in their designated positions:
Outstanding Officer Reporter – Kasie Coupe, Outstanding Advanced Sentinel – Landon Avila, Outstanding Advanced Reporter – Jack Burch.
Not only were there fabulous individuals, they couldn’t have done it without a team, here is the teams results: Novice Team Blue – Gold, Novice Team Gold – Gold, Advanced Team Gold – Gold, Advanced Team Blue – Gold, Advanced Team Silver – Gold, Officer Team – Silver.
Gold is the highest rank you could get as a team, this indicates all people in the team delivered themselves in a way that stands out to the judges, rewarding them to get gold as a team. Silver is the second highest rank you could receive as a team, similar to gold, this means all people in your team delivered themselves in a way that could be eligible for gold, but wasn’t quite there yet, leaving room for improvement and growth. Congratulations to all of our teams who came and gave it their all!
Livestock Judging Contests
Our judging team hit the road this weekend for the 2024 California Triple Crown livestock judging series and it did not disappoint! They spent Friday in Modesto for the MJC Swine contest, Saturday in Dixon at the UC Davis Sheep and Goat contest, and Sunday at the Chico State Cattle contest. All of our students who attended are new to our team this year and learned a ton! They judged 35 classes, gave 12 sets of reasons to contest officials, and had great practice/conversations as a team with Coach Lokka before and after each contest. The team is eager to buckle down and work hard this winter as we prepare for our spring team contest season! Thank you to Modesto Junior College, UC Davis, and Chico State University for hosting such high-quality contests this weekend and to all of the breeders, officials, college students, etc who assisted.
2024 AG Boosters Dinner Dance
On November 8th we had our Ag Boosters Dinner Dance! The turnout of this event was amazing, we had a dessert auction, silent auction, fun games to get everyone participating in, and of course, dancing! We would like to give thanks to all of the families and people who came out to support our Sebastopol FFA Chapter, this event allows us to fundraise all of our money to be able to pay for conference spots, speaking contest spots, chapter meetings, and all the other stuff we use to make sure our members have a wonderful experience here at Analy. Another thank you to all of our members who came out and helped with auctions, sold beads, serve, clean up and set up, we are so thankful! Lastly, we would like to thank the Holy Ghost Society for allowing us to use their space for our dance, we hope to see you again next year!

Giving Thanks
Our members had the opportunity to color/create a thank you card for any staff, teacher, or coach, on campus that makes an impact on them through the school. It’s a lovely turnout every year, allowing staff from all around to feel supported and noticed for what they do on campus, and off campus, just in time for Thanksgiving!
