Strawberry Lemonade

Ione Dellos, Staff Writer

Hi all and welcome back to another edition of FFTCD! As the weather has been getting warmer, I decided to share a refreshing recipe that my grandma always makes me when it gets hot out. If you’re worried about spilling the lemonade on your shirt, who cares? Everyone will know you’ve had some strawberry lemonade and you’ll be automatically labeled as cool (duh). This lemonade is so good you may want to invest in a mini-fridge for your room to hide the lemonade in, because your family can and will drink this all if you’re not careful. The communal fridge is a lawless place.

What you’ll need:

-8 large strawberries, halved

-2 tablespoons white or cane sugar

-7 cups water

-1 cup white sugar

-2 cups lemon juice (Fresh is best!)

Let’s get cooking!

Prep time: 15 minutes

1.) Place strawberries in a blender with 2 tablespoons sugar, and pour 1 cup of water in with the strawberries and sugar.

2.) Blend until smooth and no chunks remain in the mixture.

3.) Combine blended strawberry juice with 6 cups water, 1 cup sugar, and lemon juice in a large pitcher; stir until blended. Make sure to chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
