Take a Hike! February 2019

Take a Hike! February―Sugarloaf State Park

Fortunately, we’ve received plenty of much-needed rain these past few weeks. That means our local waterfalls are in full flow and looking rather gorgeous. One of the best places to see after the rainfall is Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. In the 2017 fires, much of Sugarloaf burned down or became inaccessible to the public. But this season it’s making a wonderful comeback with wintertime foliage in full bloom. Sugarloaf, nestled in the Mayacamas near Kenwood, offers over 25 miles of trails for all activity levels, stellar sunsets, and a helpful website at sugarloafpark.org. Keep in mind it’s a pretty long drive from here in West County!
