Analy’s Second Annual Lip Sync Battle
April 16, 2018
Friday, March 16th, was the second annual Lip Sync Battle hosted by the Analy Interact Club. It was an incredibly fun event, with many acts ranging from sweet to hilarious.
The event was a benefit for disaster relief in Puerto Rico through the organization United for Puerto Rico. A little over $300 was raised, and that will likely be matched by the Interact Club to provide support to the people of Puerto Rico who are still reeling from the hurricanes last fall.
The winners of the Lip Sync Battle were Zea Roth-Sisley and Paisley Logan, who performed “I Don’t Dance” from High School Musical 2. Their rendition was a combination of choreography from the film and an odd sprinkling of Zumba moves. The winners were determined by crowd reaction using Mr. Goldberg’s decibel meter (a device that measures sound level). In second place was Alysia Perez, who lip synced “Most Girls” by Hailee Steinfeld, an empowering anthem about acceptance. Analy math teachers Mr. Wilson and Ms. Elliott took home the third prize under the stage names of “A-unit” and “e3”. They performed “In the End” by Linkin Park.
Overall, it was a successful event and a fun night. There was cross dressing, showtunes, and much more. Interact would like to thank everyone who participated and attended. Hopefully this will become a regular event at Analy.
