The evening of December 13th was full of beautiful music, as the Analy Choirs held their annual winter concert. The director, Andy DelMonte, has been the choir director at Analy for 21 years, and is doing a wonderful job.

The concert opened with all the choirs singing a traditional grégorien chant “Veni, Veni Emmanuel,” with an interesting flare involving each girl singing the melody separately, on their own time.

Cantanti, formerly known as concert choir, sang a lovely set, featuring the classic “Angels We Have Heard on High.” Treble choir sang three lovely songs, including “We Need a Little Christmas” from the musical Mame.

All the girls in choir sang a Norwegian song “Vuelie” from the Disney film Frozen, as well as “All I Want for Christmas is You,” with choreography.

Vocal Ensemble stole the show with their take on the classic “12 Days of Christmas,” using a modified version of the arrangement by the group Straight No Chaser.

For the first time ever, the boys in the Chamber Singers, the new name of Honor Choir, performed their own song. They did an arrangement of “We Three Kings.”

The Chamber Singers shined with Rachmaninoff’s “Bogoroditse Devo” and the concert’s title piece “Home for The Holidays.” The concert ended with the long-time Analy Choir tradition of singing Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus,” and calling up any choir alumni in the audience. Mr. Wilson and Mr. Foster both came up to sing, as well as many other alumni.

It was a beautiful concert, and a lovely way to start the holiday season.
