Analy Lip Sync Battle=Success!

Where were you on the night of April 7? The correct answer is: in the auditorium, watching hilarity ensue during Analy’s first ever lip sync battle. Hosted by Interact in an effort to raise awareness for the club, all profits went to Ruby Salkeld, a sophomore suffering from cancer, and her family.

The event left the audience breathless with laughter. Students from all grades, including Ally Carter, Danica Orth, Jackson Parks, Kim Juarez-Rico, Lateah Knight, and many more, showed up to sync. Faculty members Andy Del Monte and Rachel Ambrose presided as judges. They even performed, giving what was probably the most over-the-top duet of the night! They were, however, unable to beat out Lateah for the winning spot, due to her amazing performance of Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies.”

Members of the audience had opportunities to participate and could go up on stage and lip sync to well-known songs. Each of these winners was determined by audience reaction. Mr. Goldberg’s decibel meter was even brought out to get the exact noise measurement. To top it all off, a raffle took place at the end of the night.

All in all, it was an incredibly entertaining evening that raised $450 for Ruby and her family. Hopefully further charity events will be able to take place in the future.
